It was 40 years ago, in 1971, that Infinity Foods first opened its doors in an old converted terraced house in Church Street Brighton. The vegetarian wholefoods and freshly baked goods proved so popular that by 1973 these wholefood pioneers moved Infinity Foods to its current location on North Road in Brighton’s North Laine area.
As interest in organic & natural foods continued to grow so did Infinity Foods. By 1985 the shop as it stood was not able to cater for the increasing demand for bulk wholefood orders.
As a result, a group of members set up a separate wholesale branch of the business run initially from a site in Saltdean, with the eventual move to a warehouse in Portslade where we operate from today.
From our humble beginning as a small outlet at the rear of our shop we have grown into one of the UK’s leading national distributors of high quality, organic, Fairtrade and natural products.
To celebrate our 40 years we will be throwing a big street party this summer for all to enjoy. This will be held on the 2nd of July in Jubilee square, just round the corner from our Shop. Details are yet to be finalised but there will be a food market with many of our suppliers showcasing there fantastic products and lots of live entertainment throughout the day. Watch this space for more information over the coming weeks.
